Formed in 1963 by Keith Relf and Jim McCarty (who later went on to form the original
incarnation of Renaissance, The Yardbirds can truly claim to be a legendary blues
band. They included Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page on guitar (not all at once!)
and briefly comprised Page with Robert Plant, John Bonham and John Paul Jones, who
then renamerd themselves as Led Zepellin via the New Yardbirds.
These days only Jim McCarty remains from their early days, but their line-up has included
many notable musicians, with Kenny Aaronson playing bass since 2009.
