Wishbone Ash

A Bit About The Band

Wishbone Ash formed in 1969, with current leader and guitarist Andy Powell being one of the original members. For many people they were the pioneers of the twin leader guitar sound. They released four hugely successful albums with their first line-up that comprised Powell, Ted Turner (second guitar), Steve Upton (drums) and Martin Turner (bass and lead vocals), including the award winning 'Argus'.

In subsequent years various line-up changes occurred and in particular Martin Turner left, returned and left again, but other members included Laurie Wisefield (ex Home), John Wetton (Uriah Heep & King Crimson) and Trevor Bolder. Eventually the current line-up came into being with Bob Skeat on bass since 1997, Muddy Manninen (guitar from 2004 to 2017), Joe Crabtree (drums) and latest recruit Mark Abrahams on second guitar. The band has released over 30 studio and live albums.
