The Tygers formed in 1978 and apart from the ever-present Rob Weir on guitars, included
Jess Cox (vocals), Brian Dick (drums) and Rocky (bass). Over the years the line-up
has included Jon Deverill and John Sykes, however after their fourth album, released
in 1982, they split up.
In 2001 Rob restarted the band but with Dean Robertson (guitar), Brian West (bass),
Craig Ellis (drums) and Jacopo Meille (vocals). West subsequently left in 2011 due
to other commitments, to be replaced by Gavin Gray.
The Tygers are a band that never quite seem to get the credit they deserve - but consistently
deliver superb live sets, a cut above many of their peers. If classic hard rock is
what you like, you can't do much better.
