Blackheart's music and unique sound shun categorisation, combining acoustic instruments, ancient synthesisers and other effects, played in various combinations by Chrissy Mostyn and Rick Pilkington, with Chrissy's haunting vocals. After releasing three albums under the name of Blackheart, they rebranded themselves as The Blackheart Orchestra to better reflect the nature of their sound.
