The Quireboys

A Bit About The Band

Although the nucleus of The Quireboys formed in the mid 1980s, the started life as The Choirboys, morphed into The Queerboys but eventually changed to their current name in 1987 when that one caused problems.

Hailing from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, the original line-up included Spike (vocals), Guy Bailey (guitar), Nigel Mogg (bass) and Ginger (guitar) who soon left to form The Wildhearts, to be replaced by Guy Griffin who's still there. With Sharon Osbourne as their manager, they released the hugely successful album 'A bit of what you fancy' in 1990 and followed it with singles chart successes.

By 2013 six more albums had been released and the inevitable line-up changes occurred - they now include Keith Weir (keys) and Paul Guerin (guitars) - and they played numerous prestigious festivals and tours with bands including The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Whitesnake, Poison etc.
