Guitarist Phil Campbell, later to join Motorhead, formed Persian Risk in 1979 with
vocalist Jon Deverill, who left after only one year to join the Tygers Of Pan Tang
to be replaced in turn by Carl Sentence. In their first seven years they released
a number of singles and an album and endured a number of other line-up changes including
a spell with former Chinatown drummer Steve Hopgood.
After a brief reformation in 1990, there was a long period of inactivity until Carl
Sentance put together a new band in 2012 including drummer Tim Brown and with at least
studio involvement from Don Airey.
