Doris first came to attention as the vocalist for The Violet Hour with their debut
album in 1991, working with producer Pete Brown. However she left after some extensive
touring and writing, and working with Sam Brown, Alvin Lee, Joe Brown, Rory Gallagher,
Steve Marriott and many other notable musicians she released four albums of her own
during the 1990s.
She released two more albums in the next decade, each involving Dave Beeson, joining
and touring with various bands through that decade before joining with guitarist Lee
Dunham to record two more albums in 2012 and 2015 adding virtuoso bassist Lincoln
Spalding and keyboard player Pete Davies and, after a few changes, drummer Sam White.
Since then, Lincoln and Pete have left to be replaced by Ewan McIntosh and Jacob Stoney
respectively.
