Dare were formed by singer/songwriter Darren Wharton who first rose to fame in the early eighties playing keyboards with Irish rock band Thin Lizzy. Recruiting Oldham based guitarist Vinny Burns, and young keyboard player Brian Cox (who later graduated as Professor Brian Cox and went on to appear in many scientific and astonomical TV programmes), Dare released their debut album ‘Out Of The Silence’ in 1988. Six more albums and 30 years later they re-recorded their debut.
