Carl Palmer is a founder member of one of the biggest bands in the history of modern
music, progressive rock legends Emerson, Lake and Palmer. They recorded eight studio
albums together between 1970-78 and two more in the 90s, plus a number of live albums.
Prior to ELP he was a member of another iconic band, Atomic Rooster, and also formed
Asia with members of contemporary progressive rock giants Yes and King Crimson. He
has won numerous awards as a drummer as well as with his various bands.
Since ELP split up and between Asia tours (he left them but rejoined with the other
original members in 2007) he has been a member of various other bands and also worked
with his own band playing the music of ELP as instrumentals, notably with guitarist
Paul Bielatowicz and a number of highly capable bass players.
In 2016 he toured as Carl Palmer's ELP Legacy in honour of ELP keyboard player Keith
Emerson.
