Argent formed in 1968 with members Rod Argent (keyboards), Bob Henrit (drums), Jim Rodford (bass) and Russ Ballard (guitar and vocals). Ballard left in 1974 and the band split in 1976. In 2010 the original line-up reformed and have performed occasionally since.

Whilst they released a number of albums and had a few hit singles as a band, they are possibly better known (or perhaps not known?) for writing songs that became major hits for other bands and artists such as Kiss and Rainbow, as well as Argent's former (and also ongoing) band The Zombies.
